Use the Request Media button at the bottom of the screen (mobile) or in the sidebar. This opens Overseerr in a new tab where you can search and request titles. You'll need an account — ask the server admin if you don't have one.

Most requests are downloaded automatically and available within a few hours. Some titles take longer depending on when a release becomes available. You'll get a notification when it's ready if you have Overseerr notifications set up.

Try switching to a lower quality in Plex settings first. If that doesn't help, check the Uptime page to see if any services are showing as offline. If everything looks fine, let the admin know.

Direct Play means your device is playing the file exactly as stored — best quality, no server load. Transcoding means the server is converting the file on the fly because your device or connection can't handle the original format. This uses more CPU and can affect other streams. Using the native Plex app and a fast connection usually avoids transcoding.

You'll need a device that supports 4K HDR playback and the native Plex app installed (not the browser). A strong, stable internet connection (25+ Mbps) is also needed. Apple TV 4K, Nvidia Shield, and Roku Ultra all work well for this.

Contact the server admin to be added. Once you have a Plex account linked, you'll also be able to request content through Overseerr.
